As we approach the end of the school year, I wanted to write in order to provide important information relating to the arrangements for the final day of term and the beginning of the new academic year in September.
The final day of term will be Friday 20 July and school will close for students at 12.30 pm. There will be no lunchtime food available on this day; however, food will be available at breaktime. The school buses will collect students from Lower School and Upper School at 12.30 pm.
With all students moving to one site, it is important that we take the time to ensure that students in all year groups have a full induction and are made aware of our expectations; where tutor time will take place; new eating arrangements in the school for break and lunchtime; familiarising themselves with areas of the school that have been refurbished.
For all these reasons, we will have a “staggered” start on Thursday 6 September.
8.30 am Year 7 to meet their tutors in the Year 7 designated area
8.30 am Year 8 to meet in the Hall
9.30 am Year 9 to meet in the Hall
10.30 am Year 10 to meet in the Hall
11.30 am Year 11 to meet in the Hall
Provision will be made for those students who use the school bus service. All students will have lunch (Break 2) at 1.30 pm, followed by normal lessons in the afternoon.
Currently, students have two lessons after lunchtime. From September, to maximise effective learning, students will have one lesson following lunch. There is no change to the beginning or end of the school day.
Can I take the opportunity of thanking all parents and carers for their support during this year and wish everyone an enjoyable summer break.
Mr C Keen
