We are very pleased to announce that for the third successive year in a row we have had a record number of applications for the positions of Head Boy/Girl/Pupil for The Hart School.

We would like to congratulate and wish all the candidates good luck with their campaign this week and would to remind all students that voting is now live via their ClassCharts homework, where they can access the individual campaign posters and the voting link.

Make sure you have your say on who represents you at The Hart School! Voting will end at the end of the day, Monday 28th September.

Many Thanks,
Mr R Brindley and The Hart School Council

Head Boy/Girl 2020/2021

Have you got what it takes?

Create a ‘Two Slide’ PowerPoint. Introducing yourself, the reasons why you should be elected Head Boy/Girl and how this may benefit the school overall. This will be used for your election campaign and will be the basis of how students will vote for you or not. These two slides can be as creative as possible, use your imagination.

Email Mr Brindley your PowerPoint.
Remember! This will look extremely positive on any job/university/college applications.
Finally, good luck!!!

Head Boy Testimonial:

“When it comes to future aspirations writing ‘Former Student Council Member’ or ‘Head Boy/Girl’ on CV’s and applications will allow you to advertise your leadership qualities and skills gained throughout your time here, in addition to the ability to work towards projects effectively and as a team. Being part of the Student Council, you begin to get a sense of your achievement and the potential to improve your school environment, as well as understanding how to work around project setbacks and explore alternative solutions.
I work on projects that benefit my school community, including the Student Council. Friendship and responsibility are among the qualities I have improved in the years of being on the Student Council”

Huge Congratulations goes to Alfie Pascall in Year 11, who has won the 2019/20 Fantasy Football Competition sponsored by The Hart School Council. Like Liverpool, Alfie had to wait with baited breath to see if he could finally clinch the inaugural title and he didn’t have to wait long as he rocketing to 1st place by a huge margin. Congratulations again Alfie! This year’s Fantasy Football Competition will start very soon, so keep your eyes peeled for information on how to enter, which will be sent out by the Hart School Council very soon. ... Fiona Bennett is Livs doing this? Xx

After a cracking start to the year and a whole host of school improvements, we really want to show how great things are at The Hart School.

Following all of the government guidance we are delighted to be able to offer parents of prospective Year 7 students the chance to come and see the school at one of our open events.

The new principal, Rachael Sandham, believes that “the choice of secondary school is so important that we want to allow parents to come and physically see the school if they so wish”.

For obvious reasons, these will need to be booked in advance but we have laid on extra tours and days to ensure parents can come and have a look. Sessions will begin with a presentation from the principal followed by a tour of the facilities. The events will last for no more than an hour (we are aiming for shorter).

For anyone that is unable to visit or does not wish to book a place - we will be offering virtual experiences as well (more information on these will follow soon).

Thanks

Following a cracking first week, with all students on site, we’d like to take this opportunity to remind ex-year 11s (from any school) that The Hart School Sixth Form will be willing to take late applications from students until the 18th September.

After hearing many schools and colleges are operating remote learning or not even having students on site, we are proud that we are delivering all lessons within the classroom as we know this is where the best learning takes place.

We offer a broad range of Level 3 courses that facilities routes into any career or pathway. Recent additions such as Environmental Science and Dance are proving very popular.

The library has had a huge makeover, creating an incredible study space that is exclusively used by The Hart School Sixth Form students.

Please check our website for more information or contact the school.
Mr Brennan (head of sixth form) and the sixth form team would be delighted to discuss options with you.

Thanks

Absolutlely delighted to see so many students on site today. They looked incredibly smart in their uniforms and it was wonderful to see so many happy faces walking into school, happy to be back with their friends.
A really buzz filled the corridors and lasted throughout the day.

It’s been wonderful to hear from my son how much he enjoyed been back, and how good the school is operating

Then the phone calls begin 🤔

They weren’t happy. Trust me

I can guarantee there were not happy faces from several of the kids, as their tutor will no doubt tell you!

Can anyone give us an update on the year 11 prom please? I know nothing can be finalised at the moment but I think the children deserve to know that something is going to be organised for them! I know a lot of parents have spent a great deal on outfits already- especially the girls who have been planning their dresses for over a year! After the year they had and the fact they missed out on so much of the end of their school life I think you’ll agree they deserve a good send off. Many thanks

Another wonderful day with our fantastic Year 7. Smart, polite and eager to learn, they’ve had a great day and the Year 7 tutors can’t speak highly enough of their tutees.

We’re now counting down until Monday when every year group will safely be on site and we can start the learning journeys for another successful year.

Where is the New Gate please. My son starts back tomorrow and usually walks up the heritage trail to the back of the school.
