The Hart School is committed to providing our students with a programme of careers education, information, advice and guidance for all students in years 7–13.
The Hart School endeavours to follow the National Framework for CEG 11–19 in England (DfES, 2003) and other relevant guidance from DCSF, QCA and Ofsted as it appears.
Students’ provision is incorporated into assemblies, tutor activities and focussed
collapsed curriculum days (called Life and Soul Days) across the school year. Students also experience workshops and talks from professionals and attend university open days.
Students also use careers software in order to allow them to explore a range of career choices and gain additional information about planned careers.
Our Careers Advisor is also available at parents’ evenings and parents are encouraged to book appointments with the careers officer at these events.
We are working closely with our local business link Amazon to provide students with experiences of the workplace as well as making projects within the curriculum relate to the real world.
We work very closely with our Local Enterprise Coordinator who helps support the development of a whole school strategy for careers, enterprise and employer engagement.
We use an independent careers service who provide careers information, advice and guidance to our students. Mr Small supports all students from Year 7 to Year 13 regarding their choices in preparation for their future and provides impartial careers information, advice and guidance (CIAG). He is available throughout the week, to arrange an appointment email email@example.com.
The Hart School is committed to preparing students for the world of work. Miss Dosanjh is the schools Careers Leader and is working to building a careers curriculum that supports students in being competitive candidates for jobs, apprenticeships, college courses, sixth forms and universities places.
