Rewards
At The Hart School, we believe that recognising success is an important part of helping every student feel valued, motivated and proud of their achievements.
Our rewards system celebrates the many ways students contribute positively to school life. This includes working hard in lessons, completing high-quality work, demonstrating excellent attendance and punctuality, showing kindness to others and consistently living our HART values:

We want students to understand that their positive choices matter. Every lesson, every day and every week provides another opportunity to succeed.
Hart Points
Students earn Hart Points when staff recognise positive behaviour, effort, achievement and contribution to our school community.
- Hart Points can be awarded for:
- Excellent effort and engagement in lessons
- High-quality classwork or homework
- Kindness and supporting others
- Demonstrating our HART values
- Excellent attendance and punctuality
- Going above and beyond expectations
Our focus is not simply on rewarding the highest attaining students. We want to recognise effort, improvement, character and positive choices so that every student has the opportunity to be successful.

We encourage every student to #BeInTheGreen
Students build their Hart Points through positive choices and positive contributions. Where negative points are received, these affect a student's overall Hart Points balance. Being in positive equity demonstrates that a student is making a positive contribution to our school community.
Students who remain in the green can access wider rewards and recognition throughout the year, including year-group rewards, events, competitions and other opportunities.
The message to students is simple:

The Hart Rewards Shop
Hart Points also have real value within school.
Students can use the Hart Points they have earned to access items through our Rewards Shop.
The shop contains a range of rewards at different Hart Point values, allowing students to decide whether they would like to:
SPEND – enjoy smaller rewards more regularly.
SAVE – build their Hart Points towards something bigger.
This gives students ownership of their rewards while encouraging goal-setting, patience and positive decision-making.
New items are added throughout the year and we listen to student voice when deciding what students would like to see available in the shop.
Every day in school provides another opportunity to learn, achieve and collect positive Hart Points.
